Sarawak’s new state-owned airline, AirBorneo, today revealed its official logo and tagline in a milestone moment ahead of its operations scheduled to begin in January 2026.
The launch ceremony, held at the Satria Pertiwi Complex, was officiated by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. The airline introduced its brand logo, named the “Wings of Unity”, and its tagline “Borneo For You”, both of which symbolise purposeful travel, cultural celebration, and the bridging of communities across continents.
In a statement, AirBorneo said it will take over and expand the services previously provided by MASwings, covering both full-service routes and vital Rural Air Services to remote communities.
“With a focus on quality service and a deep connection to local heritage, the airline’s identity incorporates Sarawak’s colours and motifs, representing the region’s unity and diversity. AirBorneo aims to be more than an airline — serving as a cultural bridge, a storyteller of the skies, and a proud representative of Borneo on the global stage,” the statement said.
Abang Johari first announced the establishment of AirBorneo on Feb 12, following the signing of the Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) between the Sarawak government and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG).
