CHINA:

Air China, as the official airline partner of the recently concluded Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, successfully transferred all domestic flights from the T3 terminal at Beijing Capital International Airport to the T2 terminal within 34 hours beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, ensuring the successful departure of all international flights for departing Olympians and officials, as well as the closed-loop operation of the transportation for passengers from the Winter Olympics V.

Following the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) entrusting China National Aviation Holding Co with the task of completing the terminal transfer for domestic flights departing from T3 to T2, China National Aviation Holding Co formed a special team with detailed plans in place for all involved sectors, including domestic passengers and Olympic participants.

After receiving the information from CAAC, Air China devised a plan for switching terminals within three hours, with detailed procedures and tasks covering every operational procedure involved, including passenger service, epidemic prevention, and flight changes.

Employees from Air China have been working around the clock to finish the operation effectively. At midnight on Saturday, the lights at Air China's operating control center stayed on, with all staff on duty to acquire the most up-to-date information and schedule flights, all while ensuring the seamless operation of each procedure, from airplane arrangements to flight departure times.

The first flight out of Beijing following the terminal move was Air China flight CA1353 from Beijing to Sanya in South China's Hainan Province, which took off at 6:35 a.m. on Sunday. Air China has guaranteed 21 flights pertinent to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics from midnight on Sunday to 10 a.m. on Monday, as well as 345 domestic flights at the T2 terminal.

At the same time, Air China's commercial department began adjusting domestic inbound and outgoing flights right away, with roughly 1,000 personnel working nonstop from morning to night.

Furthermore, everyone from Air China has been working full time since Saturday to assist passengers with the follow-up process, with the Air China information system being tested and tweaked in advance to ensure a seamless operation.
