MALAYSIA:

The three-day Festive Market Getaway voyage by the Ambience that was scheduled to set sail on December 18 has been cancelled by Ambassador Cruise Line.

According to a statement from the UK-based company, "after yearly maintenance works undertaken, a fault with the lifeboat station on board Ambience was found."
The firm stated, "We have elected to handle this immediately as a precautionary step and, as a result, will not be able to finish the repair and post-repair test in time to properly operate today's sailing." We would like to express our regrets to all of the passengers who were scheduled to sail with us today. We understand that canceling an itinerary is never an easy decision, especially at this time of year.

For a Dec. 21 departure on a "winter sun" itinerary that includes 15 nights in the Canary Islands for Christmas and New Year's, the Ambience is anticipated to be back in operation.
