Australia high commission participates in MAIPs cycling program

Australian High Commissioner TYT Andrew Goledzinowski was thrilled to have a chance to participate in a bike-share program with the Perlis Young King, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail.

Cycling program which began in 2013 organized by the Council of Islamic Religion and Malay Custom Perlis (MAIPs) with the theme 'Caring MAIPs track and sympathize Asnaf'.

TYT Andrew said the charity program was unique in that it saw firsthand how a crown prince received strong support from various stakeholders and spent time listening to the grievances of the people in need.

He said he was also happy to be able to chat with the local community and even invited him to several villagers including a house donated by MAIPs to the asnaf in the state.

The six-kilometer trek begins and ends at the grounds of the Darul Worship Mosque of Behor Pulai, Kangar, welcomed by MAIPs Chief Executive Officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor.

TYT Andrew, accompanied by his wife, Lyn Allan and First Secretary to the Australian High Commissioner's Office in Kuala Lumpur, James Bryan, had a two-day working visit to Perlis.

Meanwhile, Allan said he was also excited about the opportunity to participate in the cycling program as he interacted with various community backgrounds.

He said he was also impressed by the beauty of nature and the hospitality of the people in the state.
