Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) has announced a series of key leadership appointments effective July 2025, marking a significant step in its ongoing organisational growth and strategic development.
Mr Jason Tan Chin Foo has been promoted to Deputy Chief Executive Officer. Having joined BESarawak in 2012, Tan previously served as General Manager of Business Development and Marketing. He has been instrumental in enhancing Sarawak’s international visibility through strategic initiatives under the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030.
Also promoted is Ms Anedia Kahar, a founding team member since 2006, who now assumes the role of General Manager of Business Development and Services. Her leadership in implementing Sarawak’s Legacy Impact framework has been pivotal to the state’s business events success.
BESarawak also welcomes Mr Joachim Soon as General Manager for Capacity and Digitalisation. With a strong background in training, communications, and digital engagement, he is set to lead efforts in talent development and innovation.
CEO Mdm Amelia Roziman stated that these appointments are part of a strategic restructuring to align with the final phase of the Legacy Impact Master Action Plan. “We are committed to building strong leadership and injecting new perspectives to elevate Sarawak’s position as a global player in legacy-driven business events,” she said.
