CHINA:

At a forum promoting the province's attractions in Sofia on Thursday, a delegation from Zhejiang Province in China greeted visitors from Bulgaria.

The program included a tea ceremony, a photo exhibit, a performance of traditional Chinese musical instruments, and a video presentation about Zhejiang for the audience to enjoy.

Vice governor of Zhejiang Hu Wei said that his province's stunning landscape, rich cultural history, and lively energy were all on display at the event held at the China Cultural Center. "We hope to use this event as an important opportunity to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation in culture, tourism, and other fields," Hu stated.

The Chinese Embassy's charge d'affaires in Bulgaria, Wang Min, expressed her hope that practical cooperation as well as interpersonal and cultural exchanges would grow between China and Bulgaria. "At the same time, I hope to see more Bulgarian friends embark on a journey to China," she added.

Meanwhile, "Nihao! ('Hello' in Chinese) China," the national tourism brand of China, was presented to Bulgaria by the director of the China Cultural Center in Sofia, Hong Hai.

"Nihao! China" is the new tourism brand from the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Tourism. It has a cartoon panda with a plump belly, the words "Nihao China" written in italics, and a traditional Chinese seal that says "Hello China." With this brand, a comprehensive marketing campaign has begun to promote travel to China.

Irena Georgieva, the deputy minister of tourism for Bulgaria, was also present. According to her, her ministry supports programs that encourage bilateral cooperation in this area and places a high value on the growth of Bulgarian-Chinese relations in the tourism industry.
