KUALA LUMPUR:

Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) suggested that any development in Fraser's Hill should maintain and retain the Tudor theme embracing its  Little England concept.

Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said Fraser's Hill should be developed as a cultural legacy destination.

At present, any proposed building of a new hotel in Fraser's Hill is under the jurisdiction of the local authorities and the state government which is the Raub district council.

MOTAC also urges the area known for the presence of diverse species of birds to be not disturbed by any development, as it is known as a bird-watching destination in Malaysia.

"Currently, Fraser’s Hill only has three hotels with a total of 370 rooms, which is not enough to cater to the demand, especially during weekends and the holiday period.

“New hotels can attract tourists to visit or the corporate sector to hold programs at Fraser’s Hill,” she said during the Siri Jelajah Semarak Pelancongan Domestik in Fraser Hill.
