PENANG:

The fourth edition of Malaysia's largest business events conference BE@Penang will be organized by the Penang Convention and Exhibition Bureau (PCEB).

The two-day conference will begin on December 5 at the Setia SPICE Convention Center near Bayan Baru, here at the same time as the inaugural Asia Pacific Summit 2019 International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA).

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said it was a giant leap for the business events industry to have both the BE@Penang conference and the ICCA Asia Pacific Summit at the same time in Penang. He said the exchange of information between events and their participants will provide endless opportunities for business events to visualize a bright future.

"This industry has proven its worth and continues to grow as the years go by," he said to a press conference here today.

Ashwin Gunasekaran, Chief Electoral Officer of PCEB, who also attended the press conference, said that the event will be attended by a total of 40 speakers from across the Asia Pacific, such as India, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand.

"This will raise the standards for the state to host world-class conferences and hold talks on relevant topics for preparing industries for the future with these two conferences in Penang.," "he said.

The registration fee is affordable at RM500 for those who are PCEB's industrial partners.

For non-members, the registration fee is RM600 and there is a fixed rate of RM100 for students, lecturers, and academicians, as well as a 10 percent discount on the initial registration fee for the three-person group and above.
