Indonesia targets 45 thousand tourism employees certification

Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy is aiming for 45 thousand tourism employees to be proficient in national- and ASEAN-level tourism aptitude certifications this year.

Sandiaga Uno, Indonesia’s Tourism and Creative Economy Minister said that the target last year was 18 thousand tourism personnel to be certified, and this year, the target increased to 45 thousand applicants.

The ministry is collaborating with the Surya AbadiKonsultan Professional Certification Institute (LSP), trades, and associations along with the government for the certification for backing the quickening of retrieval and development in the output of the tourism and creative economy segments.

As part of this cooperation, there are numerous programs that comprise capability development, and competency reinforcing, along with enabling tourism and creative economy human resources to obtain new capabilities.

Minister Uno said that it is anticipated to create scopes of employment and business prospects for tourism and creative economy human resources.

Proficiency accreditation for tourism human resources is executed at six primary tourist places. They are Lake Toba in North Sumatra, Labuan Bajo in East Nusa Tenggara, Wakatobi in Southeast Sulawesi, Borobudur-Yogyakarta-Prambanan in Yogyakarta and Central Java, Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara and BromoTenggerSemeru in East Java.

Minister Uno stated that the accreditation would continue to be carried on,for increasing the number of tourism capabilityaccreditationpartakersthis year.
