INDONESIA:

PT Industri Kereta Api (INKA), a state-owned train manufacturer, is partnering with PT Taman Wisata Candi (TWC), a state-owned tourism organization, to create electric transit modes for cultural tourism and heritage places.

On Sunday, PT INKA President Director Budi Noviantoro and PT TWC Director Edy Setijono signed a collaboration agreement at the train manufacturer's headquarters in Madiun City, East Java Province. Kartika Wirjoatmodjo, the Second Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), was present at the signing of the cooperation agreement.

Tram movers and shuttle buses are the electric transportation modes that will be created first in the agreement, according to PT INKA president director, because they will be employed at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) to support the implementation of the 2022 G20 Summit.

"A tram mover is a new type of vehicle. I believe the car will become a new TMII emblem, attracting more tourists "he explained.

The PT TWC director stated at the time that the collaboration will produce electric vehicles for other tourism attractions in the future, as well as establish an integrated electric transportation system linking a variety of tourism hotspots.

He went on to say, "It intends to produce renewable energy-based transportation modes that we may employ in the future."

In April 2022, a test drive for the tram mover is scheduled at TMII, with the vehicle expected to be fully operational in October 2022.

Furthermore, the second deputy minister of the SOE stated that he greatly favours the enterprises' synergy.

He also noted that PT TWC had evolved, now overseeing not just the Borobudur and Prambanan temples, but also the TMII.

"The government will make PT TWC administer all heritage locations in Indonesia in the future," he said.

Meanwhile, Madiun Mayor Maidi, who was also there, stated his support for the creation of an electric tourism transportation system, which has the potential to minimize Indonesia's air pollution.

"A tram mover is a new type of vehicle. I believe the vehicle will become a new TMII icon, attracting more tourists "he stated
