The government may adopt a Covid-19 vaccination passport as a requirement for interstate, inter-district, and foreign travel once more Malaysians are completely immunised, according to health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He is upbeat about the vaccination rate, predicting that herd immunity might be obtained by the end of the year if daily immunization rates can be increased.

"Give it another two or three months and raise the vaccination rate." We might be able to acquire herd immunity in November or December.

"This hasn't been implemented yet, but it's on the table." "There must be SOPs (standard operating procedures) for visiting mosques and a vaccine passport for travel," he stated during a webcast on Islam and current events.

"We will utilize vaccination as a pre-condition to travel across states, districts, and worldwide as more people are vaccinated," he continued.



According to Dr. Noor Hisham, it is currently too early to implement the vaccination passport system because many people have not yet been vaccinated.
Only around a tenth of the population has been given both dosages.

"As a result, we need to expand (this vaccination) program as quickly as possible," he added.


According to Dr. Noor Hisham, the current immunization rate is 250,000 doses per day, with a goal of reaching 300,000 doses soon.
