PHUKET:

Courtyard by Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 30 hotel brands, confirmed last week the opening of its newest hotel on Thailand’s most popular holiday island.

The 248-room Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town is located in the centre of Phuket town and marks the group’s 46th property in Thailand.

Located approximately a 50-minute taxi commute from Phuket International Airport or the famous west coast beaches, the hotel’s guests will be close to the town’s local markets, such as the Sunday Walking Street Market and Chillva Market, as well as museums and temples that reflect the island’s classical Sino-Portuguese and Peranakan heritage.

In-house facilities include an all-day dining restaurant offering authentic southern Thai cuisine and popular international dishes and extensive facilities for meetings, including a 660-square-metre pillarless Grand Ballroom and several flexible function spaces.

The group has named Pamela Ong as the hotel manager for Courtyard by Marriott Phuket Town. The property is certified under the Tourism Authority of Thailand’s (TAT) Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration Plus (SHA+) programme, which ensures that at least 70% of its staff members have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
