Muhammad Bakhtiar appointed MyCreative chairman, effective today

Datuk Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik, former deputy minister of tourism, arts and culture has been appointed as chairman of the MyCreative Ventures Sdn Bhd (MyCreative) group. The appointment takes effect on Friday (March 10).

Muhammad Bakhtiar, 57, is taking over the position from Noor Azmi Mat Said, who has just completed his term for the past two years., said MyCreative Group chief executive officer Junady Nawawi in a statement.

He said Bakhtiar, who is Balik Pulau member of Parliament, can help bring local entrepreneurs and arts activists to the global level with his vast experience in development and strategic planning, as well as his interest in art, culture and heritage.

“It is our collective goal to ensure that MyCreative positively impacts all stakeholders in the creative ecosystem, including artists, entrepreneurs, investors, and the community,” he said.

Junady also expressed his appreciation to Noor Azmi for his contributions to the development of the creative industry.

In the same statement, Muhammad Bakhtiar said the orange economic sector has the potential to play an important role in contributing to the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

“I am committed to working hard with the MyCreative team to achieve this goal and help ensure the continued success and growth of the creative industry,” he said.

MyCreative Ventures (MyCreative) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Minister of Finance (Incorporated), reporting to the Ministry of Communications and Digital Multimedia to advance Malaysia’s creative industry through strategic and innovative investment.
