NAG@Langkawi organises LAVAA X Exhibition

The National Art Gallery in Langkawi (NAG@Langkawi) at Dayang Walk, Kuah is holding a "LAVAA X Exhibition," featuring 30 visual artworks made by 17 members in the Langkawi Artist Visual Art Association (LAVAA).

 Mohd Fairus Ismail, NAG@Langkawi 's Director said the exhibition that began on July 1 and will go on until July 30, features artworks that had their own attractions, introducing a special tourist destination with artistic elements on the islands.

“This exhibition is a manifestation of LAVAA members in conjunction with the association's 10th-anniversary celebration. Through this exhibition, 30 works by 17 members of the association, who are committed to producing visual artworks, are on display.

"Among the works are paintings and sculptures," he said.

The entry is free for LAVAA X visitors from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.

"The organization of the exhibition was also co-operated by the Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) and the National Visual Arts Development Board," he said.

Mohd Fairus said besides the LAVAA X exhibition, NAG@Langkawi also organized a photography exhibition "Malaysiana-Capture the Moments of Malaysia, which is currently ongoing since July 5.

"This photography exhibition is symbolic of Malaysia in general and  Langkawi in specifically through the creation of photographic art, the unity and color of the various races, languages, and appearances of people".

"Malaysian is a collective manifesto of 23 photographers connected with rare moments which created beautiful and incredible works," he said.
