CHINA:

According to the Malaysian Chinese Tourist Organization, the restart of flights from China into this country's Senai International Airport will aid in reviving the region's tourism business after the pandemic (MCTA).

The group is dedicated to collaborating with Tourism Malaysia and Tourism Johor to help the industry in the state recover, according to its Johor chapter head Edwin Tay.

Following the pandemic, the local and international travel and tour business has begun to pick up speed.

When reached on Tuesday, he said: "We welcome visitors to Johor and look forward to more foreign flights into Senai" (March 28).

He went on to say that all MCTA members and business stakeholders should be ready for an increase in tourist arrivals via Senai.

"We hope the authorities could improve Immigration and Customs clearance at checkpoints to reduce congestion, especially during weekends and holiday season," he said. "To facilitate the speedy and smooth recovery of our inbound visitor segment.

Tay continued by advising the general public to exercise caution while purchasing cheap tours and airline tickets from unauthorized travel firms and unidentified sellers.

"Please don't fall for a scam. Always purchase from our members and other businesses that hold a license from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (Motac).

The Star reported on March 10 that Tourism Johor intends to increase the number of Chinese visitors by offering direct flights from five of those cities to Senai International Airport.

A delegation headed by Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing is anticipated to visit China in May to discuss this, according to Tourism Johor director Suhairi Hashim.

From Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tianjin, Jiangmen, and Guangzhou, we have asked for direct flights to Senai. On the trade mission, we will bring up this idea.

"Island activities in Mersing, well-liked shopping areas, and other family-friendly attractions are tourism products that we intend to promote to people in China," said Suhairi.

According to him, the first flight from Guangzhou is scheduled to land at Senai International Airport at 6.30 am on March 29.
