ROMPIN :

One of the additional features for Tanjung Gemok will be a river cruise jetty, a hotel with a unique design, a special location for street arts, a fishing market and an integrated transport terminal complex, in an effort to strengthen its position as the tourist destination under its RKK Spezial Area Draft Plan.

The Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seria Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said that a total of 122 projects were implemented in order to rebuild a 351 hectares gateway to the popular Tioman Island including 17 high impact projects and 58 major RKK projects.

“The Tanjung Gemok RKK was prepared as guidelines and to facilitate tourism and economic sectors as well as maritime activities besides containing detailed recommendations via an action plan as well as specifications for developments, management planning and actions for implementation,” he said.
Wan Rosdy said the government should develop Tanjung Gemok for its strategic position as a potential revenue generator for tourism.

The draft contains proposals to increase the development of frozen food manufacturing, breakwater construction, and the widening of the Endau River and suggestions for improving the Endau Bridge footpath and for the establishment of a tourist information center.

Wan Rosdy said the RKK has been put up for exhibition at the offices of Pahang Town and Rural Planning Department in Indera Mahkota and Rompin District Council since early this month and the public can participate in giving their views, suggestions or objections until July 31.

Alternatively, they can also visit PLANMalaysia at http://epublisiti.townplan.gov.my, PLANMalaysia@Pahang http://jpbd.pahang.gov.my or www.mdrompin.gov.my.

Wan Rosdy said that everybody has an opportunity to express their views on the draft shows that the concern of the government is important to the people.
