After the first two rounds of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme are finished, the vaccination process for tourism frontliners operating in the vital services sector will commence.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) , it stated that it would work with the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to offer the vaccination to members of the tourism industry who are working during the MCO 3.0 period.

Staff at hotels that serve as quarantine centers and other hotels that operate throughout the MCO 3.0 are among those who will receive the vaccine in the first phase of the immunization.

Aviation staff from Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia, and Malindo, as well as meetings, incentives, conferencing, and exhibition (MICE) professionals stationed at vaccination centers, are also included.

According to the announcement, the next phase would include those from additional MOTAC subcategories, based on the economic sector's operational flexibility following MCO 3.0.

Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, said the promise might be a spark for the tourism industry's resuscitation, assisting the country's economic recovery.

Meanwhile, MOTAC has worked with industry players through its agency, the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), to supply buildings as vaccination centers to speed up the vaccination process.
MITEC, Persada Johor International Convention Centre, Setia Spice Convention Centre, Seberang Perai Arena Convention Centre, Borneo Kuching Convention Centre, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Convention Hall, and Bera District Council Convention Hall are among the venues.
