Tourism Malaysia hosts media race

The Tourism Malaysia Media Explore Race (TOMER) 2022 was organized by 88 media professionals, including 11 international entries from Indonesia, Thailand, and Brunei. It is being hosted in connection with Tourism Malaysia's Golden Jubilee celebrations.

TOMER 2022, which took place over three days and two nights, was organized in partnership with Perodua, who served as the event's primary sponsor, as well as Montanic Adventure Store, BoraOmbak Marina Putrajaya, Selangor Fruit Valley, STEG Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Bagas Zakariah, Wonda Coffee, and Pepsi.

The challenged players will go on a mission of travel and treasure hunting, traveling more than 300 miles together in a car sponsored by Perodua.

The participants stopped at several checkpoints along the route, including Selangor Fruit Valley, the Tanjung Tualang Tin Dredge No. 5 (TT5) ruins, Kellie's Castle in Batu Gajah, and Bagas Zakariah in Gopeng. At these locations, they took part in activities like watching Dato' Chef Ismail Ahmad, the ambassador for tourism, art, and culture for the food industry, prepare an ice-blended dish called "cempedak

The centerpiece of the event was whitewater rafting in Sungai Kampar, which was followed by a BBQ dinner, performances by local bands and firemen, and an overnight camping experience at Riverside Camp Gopeng.

A prize-giving ceremony for the victors was conducted at Magica Hall in Quill City Mall as the traveling mission came to an end at the Kuala Lumpur Tourism Information Center (MaTiC).

The goal of TOMER 2022 was to build strong ties with the local and global media while promoting tourism-related products in the Putrajaya, Selangor, Perak, and Kuala Lumpur regions.
